Medicine Christmas Party/11 days to go
We attended the Internal Medicine Christmas party last night, and it was a lot of fun!! We also set an induction date for December 30th. Phillips has off a week of vacation for New Years; so we thought we should utilize all the time we can with him home. 11 days to go...hopefully. I go for a check up Monday 22nd and Monday 29th. If it looks like it's going to be a bad idea to induce on the 30th, then we are going to cancel it. BUT I am praying that does not happen. We are so ready to meet our baby girl!!!

Nesting/Crafting...3 weeks to go!!
Okay so I have been somewhat crazy with the crafts recently. I think it may be time to have a baby!! Over the past couple of weekends I have been making Christmas crafts. I made frames a couple of weeks ago and it was super easy. All you do is paint a design on a canvas board (found at craft store) with acrylic paint, glue a plastic magnetic frame in the center, back it with scapbooking paper, and hot glue bow on top. (You can set out the frames or glue ribbon to hang on wall.) Then the ornaments are super easy too. You need clear plastic glass balls (found at Hobby Lobby or Michael's), paint pens, shredded paper for basket accents, and ribbon. I decorated most of the glass balls with an initial and then poka dots in the background. Hope you all enjoy these ideas and happy crafting!!

50.5 percentile
We went yesterday for our 36 CHECK up!! Isabel is right on target at 6 lbs and 3 oz, and they think she will follow this pattern of growth since she has followed the 50th percentile bell curve this entire pregnancy. Which means she will weigh somewhere roughly in the 7 lbs range at delivery. Which is also great news for me!!! She is head down and ready to go...but I am not ready to go. The doctor thinks that I will probably deliver within two to four weeks. So I can relax this week, cause we're not having a baby early. This also gives her time to fatten up. Most of you would be delighted to hear that Isabel is going to be born with hair...and I mean LOTS of it. With my Italian genes and Phillips Scottish genes, we just knew she was going to have hair. On the ultrasound she has like a 1/2 inch long hair on the back of her head; I just hope she has it on the top too. Thats the update for now. We are going to relax this weekend and enjoy the calm before this exciting storm!

Christmas Decor
I just finished the mantel and the tree. The stockings hung are for me, Phillips, and Sam the cat! I decided to go with the little bitty fake tree this year. It came out okay...it will have to do for this year and sure was easy to put up. In about five or less weeks I am sure I wont even be thinking of Christmas trees.
Isabel's Room
This is pretty much it...minus the fact that Phillips has been so busy he has not had time to hang the frames and shelf pictured above. I think the frames will go on either side of the mirror and the shelf on the wall above the chair!! I really wanted to get Isabel a chandelier, but we are waiting until we move to New Orleans to see what her new room will look like. The fabric swatch is what her bumper is made off. And the furniture is expresso colored; it looks black in some of these pictures. I hope you enjoy!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
Things are moving right along at the Jenkins household. I am feeling great with 5 1/2 weeks to go!!! We have decided to stay in Jackson for Thanksgiving...and I just picked up the entire dinner. I had it catered so that I won't be slaving in the kitchen all day. Phillips' parents and grandmother are driving up from Natchez to join us, and I am looking forward to my four day holiday. I am taking off on Friday, mostly to decorate for Christmas, but I keep going back and forth as to whether or not I am doing a real tree this year. I have a small fake one in the attic and I may just get it down and not deal with the hastle of the real one, especially with the baby on the way. Also, I wanted to tell everyone that I am waiting on two frames to come in for the baby room and then I will post pictures of the finished product. Lots of love to all and a happy thanksgiving!!!

Baby Shower #2
Sorry I have not written in a week; things have been busy. I wanted to put some pics up from this past weekend. My wonderful friends threw me a baby shower in Jackson/Madison on Sunday. It was wonderful!!! Isabel is officially spoiled rotten and she is not even here yet. We have so many outfits there is just no way this child will wear them all. I am also putting on the finishing touches on the baby room. I will be putting pics of those up as soon as it is ready. We are 32 and a half weeks and moving right along!!!

Project Christmas Wreath
It all started about three weeks ago, at the Canton Flea Market in Canton, Mississippi!!! It is this huge outdoor craft market with thousands of vendors selling everything you can imagine. I came across these gorgeous Christmas wreaths...that were also way too expensive. They wanted like 200.00 and more for each wreath. Of course, I wanted to spend all of my money on other things like girl clothes, accessories, and decor for baby Isabel's room....so I passed on the wreath. Ever since then, I have thought and thought about this stupid wreath and knowing in the back of my mind that I was perfectly capable of making a replica. Today, me and my friend Kim decided to do just that. Well, it was more like me constructing the wreaths and Kim as my tag remover/clean up my mess side-kick. I thought I would share the BEAUTIFUL wreaths that I am so proud of. And the best part is they cost half the price. I am so ready for Christmas!!!! Love, Laurel

30 weeks and 3 days pregnant
30 weeks and 3 days and counting down. I really feel much bigger this week. I think from here on out I have entered the not so cute part of pregnancy. I go for a check up this Thursday and will post a blog after that. Other than growing every day and horrible indigestion, I feel really good. No swelling so far....cross my fingers!!

Blog Face Lift
I am still not completely satisfied with my blog "look"...but after several hours of navigating through the system I have decided to stick with this background (at least for now). I am sure that once the baby comes it will be easier to make posts and add pictures. Just to keep you up to date, I am 30 weeks and a couple of days pregnant and feeling great. I tried to take pics of the belly tonight, but our camera needs to be charged. I hope to snap some pics this week. Also, soon to come are pictures of the baby room!!!

Lake Charles Baby Shower 10-18-08
This weekend I traveled down to Lake Charles, LA for my first baby shower. I had an amazing time and received so many wonderful gifts. The shower went by so fast; I feel like all I did was open presents. I want to thank all of those that helped host the shower!!! It was a great success and a weekend I'll always treasure. While I was busy down south, Phillips was enjoying a relaxing weekend in the Arkansas mountains. He broke away to go fly fishing with one of his buddies. Needless to say we met back up Sunday night in Jackson and began unloading all of the wonderful goodies. My SUV was so packed that you could not see out of any windows but the front. Right now everything is on the floor in Isabel's room to be, and I am very anxious to get in there and start organizing!! Thanks again for everyone that made this weekend so special. For more pics go to the picasa web link.

Our Trip to Ireland
We just recently took a vacation to Ireland in August 2008. This is of us over looking the cliffs on the West coast. To see more pictures of Ireland, visit our picasa web link. www.picasaweb.google.com/phillipsjenkins/Ireland

Welcome
Welcome to our family blog. I thought that this would be a great way for close friends and family to keep in touch and stay up to date with the latest happenings on the Jenkins journey. Phillips and I are proud to announce that we are expecting a baby girl, and we anxiously await the new addition to our family, Isabel Rose Jenkins. Other than working and baby planning, we are trying to savor every moment of peace and quiet that we can; for we are well aware that those days will soon be over and filled with the much loved coos and cries of a baby. Mom tells me that I need to sleep every chance I get, and that is exactly what I have been doing. Phillips and I will keep you posted with the latest events in our lives, and we will certainly have a new webpage once Isabel arrives.
