Fun in the park

On Saturday, we had a family day on Magazine Street....then made a stop by Audubon Park for Isabel to play. She had an absolute great time and LOVES the slides. She especially like to go down head first...we are trying to teach her to sit. Later in the evening, we met up with some jazz fest friends and dined at LOLAs...it was delicious! RELAX

I finished the sunroom a long time ago...but forgot to post pictures of the finished product. I really love this room. It is such a perfect place for me to retreat. Lately, I have been trying to CHILL OUT while Isabel takes a nap on weekends.

Which brings me to blog...Isabel has always been a terrific sleeper. And yes we know that we are spoiled. However, nap-time has not always been the easiest to figure out. She is so busy and loves to be the center of attention, that when nap time rolls around she is NEVER ready. I say, "Ready to go take a nap....go night night". She looks at me and shakes her head very clearly NO! I set her schedule to mirror her typical day...at daycare. She naps ONCE a day from 12-2 and sometimes 3. I just put her in the crib...and after a tiny little whine....she is out cold! She puts herself to sleep!

Back to the sunroom, I absolutely love this room in my house and have been enjoying even more with the beautiful spring weather and blooms outside!

15 month word list

Isabel's vocabulary is increasing by the day. I wanted to write a list of all the words up to date that she has said before and is saying now. She is starting to repeat a lot things. And I caught her today reading a book...on her own....making up a story (nonsense words) and turning the pages.

Two Peas in a Pod

I see a lot of both Phillips and myself in Isabel. And it seems that often I think she looks just like Daddy. But this recent Easter picture stood out in reminding me of one of my favorite baby pictures. In honor of this look alike post....I would like to note that Isabel is a mommy's girl....at least for now. I am soaking in every single moment. She wants to be on my hip, sitting on my lap, holding my hand, or tugging at my pants. When I'm around, nothing else exists. I know that it is just a phase...and it will pass. But until then, we are two peas in a pod.

I wear my sunglasses at night

I have been trying for weeks to warm her up to the idea of sunglasses. I've tried wearing mine around the house and showing her how much fun wearing sunglasses are. Every time the pair came near to her...she would whimper and whine. So, I gave up and left it alone. The Easter Bunny left her a pair in her basket. And same thing...she hated them. Then, out of the blue, she picked them up this afternoon and brought them to me..."THIS.....THIS...THIS". Which means she wants them. She was a little weary at first when I put them on her eyes...UNTIL I showed her a mirror. That was it......she's hooked. She wore them for THREE straight hours....ate dinner, took a bathe, and read books. She also picked out her pjs tonight. So sunglasses, a bunny t-shirt, cupcake shorts, and a mardi gras bead. THE DRESS UP FUN BEGINS!!!

Easter Sunday

The Hunt in On!!

We had a fabulous weekend in Natchez, MS! And as always stayed very busy with event after event! We had a wonderful time on Saturday at the Holder's Easter Egg Hunt. Isabel was too cute and really got the hang of it! She was very dainty with her little felt basket... she would spot an egg, walk/run up to it, glance at me for approval, gently place the egg in her bunny basket, and then off we go to the next one. SO PRECIOUS!
