Ambidextrous

What will she be, right or left handed? The answer for now is BOTH!!! Here are some recent pictures of Isabel feeding herself. It is quite the scene. We usually have three spoons (two for her and one for me), two bowls, and a TON of paper towels. Isabel is doing a pretty good job, but every other bite she takes, I sneak in a good spoonful. Whats for dinner you might ask? This particular night we had red beans and rice, and applesauce. Some other NEW favorites (real food) include: raviolli, spaghetti-o, pudding, manderin oranges, green beans, pork and beans, blueberries, and nutra grain bars. I tried smashed up fish sticks with ketchup but it was a bust. Any other suggestions from you experienced moms? And just look at those teeth...we have four at the top (not fully in yet), and two on the bottom.

Such cute pictures, Laurel! Some other foods that worked for us were little star pasta (I usually can find it at Target) - it's small and they don't have to really "chew" it. You can put any veggie puree or other sauce over it. Jackson LOVED hummus with bread, and that was great since he got some protein. Eggs are usually good, but both of my boys had trouble with the texture. Also, Cooper's favorite was when I cooked a sweet potato, and then cut up chunks so he could pick it up with his fingers. Pancakes with Maple syrup - cut up into little pieces are another good finger food. Hope this helps a little!

My boys all love spaghetti noodles. Just cut them up so she doesn't choke trying to swallow the whole thing. Also, mashed potatoes were always a hit!

Waffles, bananas and yogurt are John Paul's favorite breakfast... even if the spoon-feeding goes ary with the yougurt, he still gets a full tummy with the waffles. Mashed potatoes (with melted cheese for added protein) are great for spoon-feeding too.
