Valentines/Mardi Gras

We started off the weekend with the Hermes Ball in New Orleans on Thursday night February 11th. It was a great time. We thank The Dugans for inviting us and giving us a taste of true New Orleans Mardi Gras. Phillips had quite the day on Friday in the French Quarter. He attended a walking parade and then met up with friends, partying with all the other crazies. Then early Saturday, our family headed to Mobile, AL to visit our friends The Meadors (Sellors, Kim and Sam). Isabel had a blast with Sam. They are about a year apart in age and were so cute the whole weekend. Isabel had her first Valentines on Saturday. She also LOVES beads and is able to put them on herself and say "Beeeeeaaadd". It is precious!!! Phillips and I were able to attend the OOM Mardi Gras party on Sunday, listen to the TIP TOPS on Saturday night, and then on Monday we took the kids to a parade The weather was cold but beautiful, and we really enjoyed Mobile Mardi Gras. Here are some pics of Hermes Ball, playing with beads, Mobile parade, and Isabel on FAT tuesday!!!

Ambidextrous

What will she be, right or left handed? The answer for now is BOTH!!! Here are some recent pictures of Isabel feeding herself. It is quite the scene. We usually have three spoons (two for her and one for me), two bowls, and a TON of paper towels. Isabel is doing a pretty good job, but every other bite she takes, I sneak in a good spoonful. Whats for dinner you might ask? This particular night we had red beans and rice, and applesauce. Some other NEW favorites (real food) include: raviolli, spaghetti-o, pudding, manderin oranges, green beans, pork and beans, blueberries, and nutra grain bars. I tried smashed up fish sticks with ketchup but it was a bust. Any other suggestions from you experienced moms? And just look at those teeth...we have four at the top (not fully in yet), and two on the bottom.

Throw me something mister

It was SUNDAY FUNDAY for us!!! We went to church on Saturday evening, so that we could play the whole day!! We started the day with pancakes and banana...Isabel's favorite. Then, we loaded up and went to the Lil Rascals Parade in Metairie at noon. We had a blast and joined some friends to watch the parade...thanks Cori for the spot. I don't know who had more fun, Isabel or mommy. I LOVE parades. We caught tons of beads and lots of stuffed animals too.

Then at 4:00 our neighborhood had a mini parade with a brass band leading the way. We pulled Isabel and her little friend Remi in the Mardi Gras wagon float. They loved it!

When we returned home and got ready for bed. Daddy taught me a new game with one of the broken beads. It was so fun and entertained me for an hour.

Thank you daddy for the best day ever!!! Kisses to you!!!

Anything you can do, I can do better...

Everything you can do I can do too!!

Isabel is really coming into her own and developing quite the personality. She is precious and thinks that she do everything that mommy does...all by herself. I would like to think of this as her asserting her independence early in life. I think I am going to have my hands full. Here are some of her recent discoveries:

Muli-tasking just like my mommy does!

My little ladybug and her party

We celebrated Isabel's FIRST birthday this weekend. She had a ladybug birthday bash at home with family and friends. I absolutely loved putting this party together, and I have to say that it was PERFECT!!! Isabel was so precious eating her cake and did it very dainty like, taking one little bite at a time...until she decided to UH-OH the whole thing off the tray and onto the floor. She thought it was better to see the cake fall and splat on the floor than to eat it. It was a great time and we would like to thank everyone that helped us celebrate.
