Ballet/tap Class

Isabel started a Ballet/Tap combo class this fall at Elite Dance in Covington.  She loves it so much.  She takes every Thursday night from 6-7pm in the Advanced 3 class (because she took last year in New Orleans).  This age group is absolutely adorable.  I'm already looking forward to their precious recital.  Here are some priceless clips.  Their studios have windows where parents can see in and the girls can't see out.

Jaunt to Lake Charles

The girls and I took a quick trip to Lake Charles the last weekend of September.  We left Phillips at home to study for his GI boards (taken on October 3rd).  Here are some moments captured.  We had an LSU football party, visited great grandparents, and attended Aunt Libby and Cousin John Paul's birthday party.  It was a quick trip yet very restful for me.  Yes, Mommy got to sleep in:)

Caroline started pulling up toward the end of September (8 months old).  It won't be long now until she cruises.

READY...

READY...
SET....
GO!!!

We are trying to help Caroline learn to crawl up on all fours.  She has mastered scooting on her belly and gets frustrated that she can't go fast.  She can rock back and forth on all fours and can complete three official arm/leg/arm movements but then falls right back to her belly and swims like a fish out of water.   Isabel so desperately wants her to crawl.

"Come on Caroline do what I do!"

My favorite - Chaos to get a group shot:)

The 8 little llamas!

We have doubled in size since the trip to Peru, which makes getting around a little more difficult.

Us getting ready for the beach....the first day.

Somebody likes accessories!

And somebody has a crush!

Ben tried to attack Caroline with sweet sugar the entire trip.

Girls loving the beach!

Our matching red, white and blues (minus Ben.....he was sleeping)

Movies in the bed and.....

.... I-pads in the morning.

Isabel turned to me this day and said, "Mommy look at the ocean how beautiful.  I love the beach.  Thank you for taking me here.  This is the best day EVER!"

Caroline wanting to say, "Put my clothes on you crazy mom...this sand feels funny."

Crazy cousins Isabel and Jane.

Caroline 7 months

Caroline skips a well baby visit this month and we catch up at the 8 month check up.  She is sitting unsupported for long periods and can transition from sitting to tummy very well.  She is eating most all baby foods and started eating baby mum mums and puffs.  As of August 15, 2012 two bottom teeth broke thru.  As of August 20, 2012 she can scoot apx. 20 feet and turn in a complete circle.  She has started to get up on all fours and rock back and forth.  She laughs and smiles all the time.  She can say dada.  She smacks her mouth and makes clicking sounds with her tongue.  She sleeps all night long and takes 2 naps during the day.   She is wearing size 3 diapers and size 6-9 month clothes.  She is so sweet.  She hardly ever cries and when she does her feeling are really hurt.  She has been such an easy going baby and we can take her anywhere.  We usually have to walk to the back of church on Sunday cause she is jibbering and too happy (and everyone behind us eggs her on).  She sucks her index finger and will not take a pacifier.

Seven Years

August 13, 2012 marks our 7th year anniversary.  It honestly feels like yesterday in a lot of ways.  We have had a wonderful seven years filled with lots of accomplishments, growth, and so much love.  We are going to celebrate just the two of us on August 25-26th in New Orleans.  It will be our first night away from baby Caroline, and a much needed getaway!

I have to document this fun little story.  Our anniversary fell on a Monday this year.  I had just gotten home from work and planned on cooking Phillips dinner.  I took both girls to Winn Dixie and shopped for our well planned meal.  Toward the end of the trip Isabel had asked for some fresh flowers for her room (no kidding, she loves flowers)!  So I agreed and made a stop in the flower department to buy her some daisies for being such a big girl in the store.  I was eyeing the orchids and thought....well that might be something nice to get for our anniversary.  I can give them to "US" for our house.  I picked out what I thought was the perfect orchid and went along to check out.  We made it all the way out to car and as I was almost done unloading I turned to see Phillips walking out of Winn Dixie.....with you guessed it.....the SAME orchid.  I yelled his name across the parking lot and as he got closer with a huge smile he said, "Happy Anniversary."  I reached in my trunk and pulled out the same flower and said, "Happy Anniversary."  We all laughed (including Isabel) and Phillips told me that the flower lady said there were only 2 like that in the shipment.  How ironic?  So 7 years later....I think we know each other well:)  Oh and we took the best one home!
