Isabel's fall soccer experience started beginning of September 2013 and ran to the end of November 2013. She practiced every Wednesday night at 6:30 and games played on Saturday morning. We played at Coquille park in Madisonville, LA. Her team: THE ORANGE CRUSH
Isabel started the season a bit unsure and didn't really know what soccer consisted of. As soon as she experienced one practice and one game....she began to link soccer in her mind as a boy sport. She quickly became sure that she did not like it. She began fighting me on the issue of practice and only sort of liked the games (possibly because they were followed with a treat). She also began complaining about the outfit....orange is a boy color, the cleats are boy cleats, and the shorts look like boy shorts (well in Isabel's mind...ALL shorts are for boys). We strongly encouraged Isabel to finish what she started....and play out the fall season for her team. She went through the season continuing to complain and give us a hard time....but she turned out to be a great little player. She hustled well and would get in the mix of players and kick the ball. She loved both of her coaches (Coach Brian and Coach Maddie). And she loved seeing her friends out there on other teams. The soccer season starts back up for Spring and we have told Isabel we will discuss playing after the New Year.
When asked Isabel, do you like soccer....her response is NO! Isabel what do you like? Her response is DANCE! And so we have a girly girl!!!
