Stomach Virus, Diaper Rash, and Ear Infections...OH MY

Here is a brief update on the latest. October has been a month to remember. People always say that bad things happen in three...and oh yes do they !! First we started with Isabel contracting the stomach virus (probably at school) and throwing up for 4 days followed with not so pleasant diaper changes of terrible diarrhea....which then lead us to this horrible diaper rash, to which we treated and are still treating with antibiotic cream. Isabel proceeds to pass the stomach bug to (7 maybe 8 family and friends...including Phillips) But here is the kicker, during all of this mess we were supposed to have our 9 month "well baby" check up...that turned into a "not so well" check up. Side note...our baby weighs 20 ibs 13 oz! Much to our surprise, Isabel also had raging ear infections in BOTH ears.

To sum it up, this is our 6th ear infection in 9 months, and needless to say we got a referral to the ENT. We visited the ENT on Tuesday of this week and after 14 days of serious antibiotics, the child still has fluid. After discussion and weighing risks verses benefits...we decided to schedule her for TUBES...and adenoids removed. My baby goes into surgery next Wednesday morning (10-28-09), so if you think of us please pray for a successful day!

On a lighter note...our little chicken is coming into her own with quite a personality. She loves to play with halloween candy. We were playing on the floor tonight (before and after bath) and she stood several times on her VERY OWN....with candy in hand and all! And the last picture I captured her saying Mamamamama that sounds like Momomomomo! But hey I am claiming it as my own.

Laurel,
I know about the frustration with ear infections. Cole has had tubes twice (and had his adenoids out) and Hayden has tubes and looks like we might be getting our second set soon. Good news is though, as babies they bounce back after the surgery and are usually back to themselves by that night! We will be thinking of ya'll.
